Two of the major participants in the historic Mere Creation conference were Phil Johnson and Siegfired Scherer.
They gave their endorsement to a pro-ID pro-Vedic archaeology book by Cremo and Thompson, Forbidden Archaelogy.
The irony is that 2 of the 3 endorsements on the back of the book were by pro-ID people who probably aren't Hindus themselves and associated with an Evangelical Christian Right Wing conspiracy known as the Wedge.
Visit the website: Forbidden Archaelogy.

Over the past two centuries researchers have found bones and artifacts showing that people like ourselves existed on earth millions of years ago. But the scientific establishment has ignored these remarkable facts because they contradict the dominant views of human origins and antiquity. Cremo and Thompson challenge us to rethink our understanding of human origins, identity, and destiny. Forbidden Archeology takes on one of the most fundamental components of the modern scientific world view, and invites us to take a courageous first step towards a new perspective

From the perspective of a Young Cosmos, this book can be alternatively interpreted to show that current paleontological assumptions of an old geological column are BADLY flawed.

Salvador, i'm surprised to hear you refer to the brothers at the discovery institute in such demeaning terms. After all, don't you want ID taught as fact also? Or have I mis-understood something? They are after all very friendly with your friends who own Uncommon Descent!
I mean, Dr Dembski is a Senior Fellow at the discovery organization! Do you describe him as a member of a "Evangelical Christian Right Wing conspiracy" when you speak to him?

| I did not mean to demean them, it was an attempt at humor. Our community often says that of ourselves amongst the brethren because it always draws a chuckle that we're conspiring to take over the world. |

My apologies!
an uncharitable reading of the wedge document could imply just that however!
I take it you are for the use of the wedge document as a guide to progression in the ID movement then?
Any anyway, any religion always wants to "take over the world", it's only natural! |
