Barry Arrington appointed head of Uncommon Descent

Congratulations to Barry Arrington for being appointed head of Uncomon Descent. See here:
Change at UD

William Dembski
As of tomorrow (Friday, November 14th), Barry Arrington assumes the leadership of UD. After more than three years at the helm, I’m finally stepping down. I expect I’ll still be posting here occasionally, but my energies will go more and more into technical ID research. Robert Marks and I continue to crank away at papers and have finally cracked the peer-review barrier in the information sciences with a paper on conservation of information (stay tuned at www.EvoInfo.org for a formal announcement).

Barry has organized UD as a non-profit corporation and plans to take UD in some new directions that will increase its readership, sense of community, and impact. Take it away Barry!

The major change at UD is that DaveScot / David Springer can no longer banish people at his whim. He can still insult, denigrate and degrade adversaries to his precious heart’s content and probably will continue to do so. Apparently UD will no longer deal with global warming which is a disappointment to me. If Arrington is going to change the posture of Uncommon Descent, they should stop banishing those with whom they have differences. He should also now welcome me back as I have always been sympathetic to Intelligent Design. Everything I have ever published reeks with it.

I would love to be able to hold forth at Uncommon Descent, secure in the knowledge that I could never again be banished by the biggest bully in the history of internet communication. Why don’t you use your influence and suggest that Arrington send me a password? My user name is John A. Davison.

    Thanks.

  3. I’m no longer at UD. DaveScot dismissed me. I’m still on good terms with Bill Dembski who lobbied to get me a scholarship in Engineering under the tutelage of Robert Marks. Bill Dembski’s mentorship prodded me to go back to grad school.

I decided not to let my dismissal by DaveScot ruin my good relationship with Bill Dembski and Robert Marks. At this time I have no intention of trying to go back to UD. I have other work to do.

  4. Thanks a lot! DaveScot no longer has the power to dismiss anyone. I am testing Barry Arrington to see if there is really a new direction at Uncommon Descent. All I want is a recommendation but if you are unwilling or unable to give it I will understand. In the meantime, like EVERYONE else, includimg DaveScot, you are always welcome to participate on my weblog -
